Description
I architected Noctie’s "Blind Mode", a WCAG-compliant accessibility layer enabling visually impaired users to play AI-powered chess via screen readers and keyboard navigation. This initiative prioritized inclusive design from the outset, opening the platform to a significantly broader audience.
I engineered robust move parsing for multiple notations and implemented dynamic features like takebacks and AI move announcements. These technical foundations were essential for providing accurate audio feedback and maintaining game integrity in an audio-centric environment.
To enhance UX, I designed board-focused keyboard commands and custom input parsing for high-velocity gameplay. These interactive systems, paired with dynamic action buttons, created a seamless and responsive interface that allows players to focus entirely on their strategy.
